AIDS 2018: Supporting Key Populations Wherever They Are

Join us at the International AIDS Conference 2018!

STOPAIDS are holding an event in the Global Village on Thursday 26 July at 4:30-5:30pm discussing how we can improve our support to those communities most affected by HIV.

Members of key populations, including sex workers, people who inject drugs, transgender people, prisoners and men who have sex with men, and their sexual partners accounted for 45% of all new HIV infections in 2015. These communities remain among the most vulnerable to HIV. More than 90% of new HIV infections in central Asia, Europe, North America, the Middle East and North Africa in 2014 were among people from key populations and their sexual partners.

An effective response to the HIV epidemic requires that key population groups are targeted by HIV prevention programmes with information and services that are specific to them.
