STOPAIDS statement at the WHO public hearings regarding a new international instrument on pandemic preparedness and response

During the first day of public hearings organised by WHO on a new international instrument on pandemic preparedness and response, STOPAIDS delivered a statement responding to the guiding question for these hearings: “What substantive elements do you think should be included in a new international instrument on pandemic preparedness and response?”

STOPAIDS highlighted three key elements:

  1. Equitable access to pandemic response products and health services
  2. Meaningful engagement of civil society and communities in the development, implementation and decision making structures of pandemic preparedness and response
