On behalf of over 120 organisations, STOPAIDS, Joep Lange Institute, Equal International, GNP+, WACI Health, Global Fund Advocates Network (GFAN), Frontline AIDS and the Platform for ACT-A Civil Society and Community Representatives share ‘Recommendations for the Financial Intermediary Fund (FIF) for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPR)‘.
The Financial Intermediary Fund (FIF), proposed by the World Bank, to address the financing gap for pandemics is expected to be finalised at the G20 Health Ministerial level meeting in June 2022 with approval at World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors meeting at the end of June 2022.
Ahead of these discussions we share key recommendations on Finance; Governance; and Operating Modalities to inform the development of this new mechanism. Cutting across all three of these areas, we advocate for using the Global Public Investment (GPI) approach to strengthen the proposed FIF.
