Imagine a space where parliamentarians from all over the world come together, sharing their knowledge, experiences, and ideas to tackle one of the greatest global health challenges of our time—HIV and AIDS. This is the vision behind the Global Parliamentary Platform on HIV and AIDS (GPP HIV), a collaborative effort between the Global TB Caucus, Global Equality Caucus, UNITE, and partners like UNAIDS, STOPAIDS, WACI Health, and the International AIDS Society.
We launched the platform itself in July 2024 at the International AIDS Conference, and it now unites over 400 parliamentarians from 40 countries, all focused on achieving the SDG3 target of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
Through this platform, legislators have the opportunity to connect and collaborate on best practices, discuss challenges, and push for the legislative changes that are so desperately needed. It’s more than just a network—it’s a movement that empowers lawmakers to drive forward policies that ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to HIV prevention and treatment. It’s about eliminating stigma, advocating for human rights and gender equality, and making sure that no one is left behind. The network will also enable parliamentarians to share strategies for collaboration and mobilisation at national level – including how to build All Party Parliamentary Groups on HIV and AIDS like the brilliant one we have here in the UK.

We encourage all parliamentarians interested in joining this initiative to register, contact us to share your thoughts, successes and plans related to your policy work and advocacy on HIV in your country. https://lnkd.in/eB4ayh8f
We also encourage all those who work with parliamentarians to get in touch to explore how we can work together to support parliamentarians to get involved and to be champions in the HIV response, nationally and globally. You can contact the Platform partners here: https://lnkd.in/eX9bzi8Q
Together, we are stronger. Let us move forward with this important agenda and join the movement to end AIDS.
